FAQs

BendBroadband would like to thank our High Speed Internet customers for your patience during the upgrade of our mail system and migration to a new and improved webmail product. During the migration, the following issues and solutions were identified. Please review this list prior to contacting our technical support line or using our web based customer input tool.

Unable to send or reply to an email:

When you click on compose or reply, it will bring up a new window. Pop up blocker software has been preventing these windows from appearing. Please try holding the control key on your keyboard when you click on these buttons, and the new window should appear. Depending on the software you use for pop up blocking, you can change the settings to allow pop ups to appear from this specific web site. For example, if you have Windows XP, the version of Internet Explorer that comes with the operating system has a pop up blocker built in. You can change your settings on that by going to the tools menu and clicking on internet options. In the internet options window, click on the privacy tab, down at the bottom of that tab, there is an option for pop up blocker. If it is checked, there should be a settings button, when you click on that, you can specify that you want to allow pop ups from a specific address. Then you enter the web address for BendBroadband Mail (http://webmail.bendbroadband.com or www.spampounder.com ), click OK, and then make sure you click apply and it should allow the pop ups to appear going forward.

Using a MAC client:

You may need to change a setting on your MAC client. If you are using MAC mail, you need to change your authentication. To do this, go into the mail menu and look for preferences. When the preferences window pops up, click on the accounts option. Then make sure that your account is highlighted in the accounts box on the left hand side of the window and click on the advanced button. When the advanced options appear, down at the bottom it will show port 110, which is fine, but right below that it will show authentication. That needs to be changed to password. Once you change that, close the preferences window and save the changes when it prompts you to. Once you’ve done these steps, MAC mail should function just like it did before.

Javascript Errors:

If you are getting a Javascript error when attempting to access your email, this could be caused by a pop up blocker. Please try holding the control key on your keyboard when you click on these buttons, and the error should not appear. Then you enter the web address for BendBroadband Mail (http://webmail.bendbroadband.com or www.spampounder.com ), click OK, and then make sure you click apply and it should allow the pop ups to appear going forward.  Contact Tech Support at 382-5551 if you are still receiving a javascript error after trying to disable the pop up blocker.

Saving Password:

By simply checking the box "Always remember me on this computer" your username will be saved. For security reasons, you password will not be saved.

Error using browser forward and back buttons:

Using your browser Forward and Back button to navigate through email items will generate a Javascript error. Using the navigation options and features provided within the webmail program will prevent this error from occurring.

Opening Attachments:

If you are unable to open an attachment in webmail by clicking on the attachment link you will need to edit your file type association properties.

For windows users:

1.      Open My Computer

2.      Select Tools from the main menu bar and then select Folder Options

3.      In the new window, click on the File Types tab.

4.      Scroll down the list to find the file type of the attachment you are trying to open. The types of files most commonly used are:
