“Reliability is the name of the game in the title business, so we needed to find a trustworthy local partner. We found that in BendBroadband... with so many of their trucks around town, we know that if a problem ever does arrive, help won’t be far behind.”
In July 2010, BendBroadband was awarded a grant in the amount of $4.4 million through the federally funded Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) for the deployment of fiber infrastructure in Central Oregon. To this BendBroadband added another $1.6 million of private investment. The goal was to create a comprehensive, regional 40 Gbps fiber ring and bring broadband connectivity to more regions of Central Oregon and thus invigorating the economic development. To make this a reality the Central Oregon Fiber Alliance (COFA) was formed. COFA is a partnership of BendBroadband with the local communities of Madras, Prineville, Sunriver, and La Pine as well as key health, educational, public safety, and business development entities.
